Rē is more than just Massage and Bodywork. It's finding a way to combine the past and the future in an aesthetic pleasing yet still progressive way. It is giving the clients choices to meet their needs whether that is cutting edge Sports Massage and Manual Therapy, or timeless Tibetian Ayervedic Rituals. It's lifestyle changes that look old-fashioned, yet speak to the future, and create results in the present. It's taking the detritus of our modern knowledge and technology and remaking it into ecletic but useful sessions with our clients.
We are Massage Therapists that are focused on providing the most appropriate massage and bodywork for your individual needs. We offer an eclectic blend of massage and bodywork techniques, as well as a client centered approach that always puts your needs first. Whether a referral from a health care provider, a friend, or another therapist, Rē will treat you with the professional expertise that you should come to expect from a professional Massage Therapist.
All of the Massage Therapists at Rē are professional members of the American Massage Therapy Association. We all carry professional liability insurance, and adhere to a strict paradigm of ethics and practice standards, unsurpassed in the Massage and Bodywork field.
Massage is complimentary medical therapy, not an alternative.
Massage Therapy has a number of benfits, first and most obvious, massage can relax a person. Many people seek a good massage to compliment other therapies. Sometimes their doctor, chiropractor, or Physical Therapist may actually reccomend massage to help them in their course of treatment. There are a few that feel that massage therapy actually replaces established medicine as a healing treatment. That is not how we percieve ourselves at Rē. We follow the standards of practice of the American Massage Therapy Association, and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, which clearly states that massage therapists do not have the power to diagnose conditions or illnesses, and that massage is a complimentary therapy, not to be used to replace standard, established medicine. So let us examine the first statement in this section - massage can relax a person.
Even the most basic massage is great for releiving stress, and what condition or pathlolgy is not affected by stress? Is massage medical in nature? These are great questions. At Rē, we let you answer that question. We have years of experience in many massage techniques, and have worked in many scopes of practice, from Athletic Training Rooms, to Hospital rooms, from clincial practices, to business offices, we can address almost any situation. Our therapists are focused on treating many medical conditions, under the supervision and with the consult of your physician. If we find that the client's condition is beyond our scope of practice, we can refer you to an individual who will be better suited to treat you, from a medical, nutritional, or emotional standpoint. That is what being a complimentary practitioner means.
To us at Rē, Massage Therapy is the best and most effective compliment to your personal health plan. We do not intend to replace any medical treatment, protocol, or perscription. Your health is yours to determine.
